Some of you may have heard about the negative comments in the media about Guatemala's adoption program. Just to give a brief update - the U.S. is tightening adoptions from Guatemala because they do not feel it protects children. Supposedly, Guatemala has some corrupt attorneys and facilitators and the U.S. Embassy wants to review each case a little closer to ensure legitimacy.

Our adoption case is far enough into the process where we are grandfathered in and the worst that will happen is our case will slow down while the U.S. Embassy scrutinizes cases a little closer. We are waiting for "Pre-Approval" from the U.S. Embassy and have been told that it will now take longer to get this. Hopefully it will come to us before we return to Guatemala for our 3rd visit on April 18th.

Above is a snapshot of our little angel sleeping after a busy day of playing. This is from our last visit trip.
