Bragging Rights...

So our girl has been home from Guatemala for 13 months and just had her 3 year old check-up yesterday. Her pediatrician cannot believe she is the same child that we brought in exactly a year ago. She has grown 3 inches and has gain almost 5 lbs since that first appt. She now weighs 28.5 lbs and is 34" tall. She is still only in the 30th percentile on an American growth chart that we don't worry about that because she is not AMERICAN!!!! Why do Americans put so much emphasis on this growth chart?!???!!!!

Caylie has been at her new school for 9 weeks and we finally received an update on her this morning. Her teacher (who has not told us anything about Caylie since she joined this school) said that Caylie is already top in her class and is really ready to move up a level but they haven't done so yet because she has only been at this school for 9 weeks. Her teacher said that she is shocked everyday by the things Caylie knows. We are too, she fools people and gives you the impression she isn't getting "it" but she definitely is! She knows every color, shape, is counting, identifying some #'s on paper and almost has her ABC's down pat. And to think, a year ago, she knew nothing but how to survive and eat!

We have put her back into speech therapy as we have a concern in this area as does her pediatrician. So we wait and watch her progress! She is also 95% potty-trained now.

Needless to say, we are very proud!
