My Sweet Caylie:
Today you turn 3. It has been almost a year since you have been home with us and it is already going way too fast. You are so beautiful and so sweet. God could not have matched us with a better little girl. I watch you all of the time and I am so proud of you. You are so good.
Today I will think of how lucky I am to be your Mommy. Today, I also think of your birthmom...a young woman, just a child herself, who tried hard but could not provide enough for you due to her living conditions. The best present this other Mommy could give you was the gift of life...she gave you a chance to live, Honey. She gave you a family.
Today, I also think of all of the other children in Guatemala who do not have Mommies and Daddies....the ones caught up in this horrible political mess that it stops them from having a forever family. We were the lucky ones my sweet girl. We got you out just in time. I promise you that we will help out those children some way, some how, some day. Even if it means sending small amounts of money from time to time. Your birth country is so beautiful and I cannot wait until you are older so that we can go there together so you can see for yourself.
You bring so much joy and happiness to my life. You give me reason to feel happy and to want to be a better person.
Happy Birthday Caylie Elizabeth - I love you with my whole heart.
Your Mama
