Hi Family and Friends: For Memorial Weekend we (Caylie, Mimi, me) celebrated in Naples, Fl. It was such a great, relaxing weekend. One that I needed very much. Our very special friends, Darlene and Diana joined us on Saturday and all of us girls just hung out by the pool and stuffed our faces with food and ice cream.
On Monday morning, before we left, we went down to the beach and discovered that the town of Naples put up white crosses for every single soldier lost in Iraq. The sight of so many fallen soldiers nearly left me breathless. It made me realize how truly lucky all of us are to have the protection of so many men and women who choose to serve our country.
On another note, this weekend was special because it marked exactly one year since my Mom and Caylie met in Guatemala for the first time! what an emotional and amazing a year!
