Reflections...

So it felt like an eternity before Caylie would join our family and after only a week and a half of having her home, it feels like she has been with us forever...that long, horrible wait to bring her home...well, let's say it must be similar to how some women who give birth describe labor pains...forever forgotten. I still have to pinch myself to believe it is all real.

Caylie is doing wonderful. She is funny, sweet, affectionate and very easy. When she first arrived home, she hated the car seat, hated our two little dogs and hated the sound of a flushing toilet. Now she loves her car seat, bosses the dogs around and wants to sit on the toilet...and sit and sit and sit!

She is eating and sleeping well and just seems to love being with a family. I truly do not think she has any sadness over leaving her life at the orphanage behind. She is very content and learning new things everyday. She dances and snaps her fingers, she loves the feel of grass under her feet and she loves the swimming pool. We are slowly getting her into a routine of consistency.

We have some wonderful family and friends...I would like to thank you all now for the love and care that you have showed us during our adoption of Caylie. My family; the welcome home party you gave us when we got finally arrived, all the great gifts for Caylie and just welcoming her into our very close-knit family. Same to our friends; you have been so kind and the support and excitement you have bestowed on us and Caylie will always be remembered.
